Mr. Hartmut Röhl, president of FIGIEFA (International federation of the independent automotive aftermarket distributors in Brussels) and GVA, will hold an active role in the conference sharing his thoughts with participants. He considers this event as the beginning of a traditional event for the IAM calendar for South East Europe.
Mr. Röhl believes the conference will stimulate regional players to support and defend the rights of the IAM and achieve a more stable cooperative environment for future developments. IAM needs us now more than ever.
Mr. Hartmut Röhl, President of GVA (German Automotive Association) & FIGIEFA (International Federation of Automotive Aftermarket Distributors) as well as spokesman for AFCAR, the “Alliance for the Freedom of Car Repair” will centre his delivery on current opportunities for the IAM. His focus will be on the benefits federations can bring, covering the organisation and tasks of the institutes of both FIGIEFA & GVA. Special emphasis will be placed on the “Right to Repair Principle” and the new Block Exemption Regulation.

Dr. Jens Rothenstein has worked since 2013 for IFH Köln and is ivnolved in the fields of customer behaviour and digital transformation. From previous professional positions and his dissertation he is also experienced in the areas of online marketing, consumer behavior and market research. Jens Rothstein is a frequent speaker in the context of e-commerce and cross-channel.

Sylvia Gotzen is Secretary General of FIGIEFA, the International federation and political representative of independent wholesalers and retailers of automotive replacement parts in Brussels. FIGIEFA’s aim is to main effective competition in the automotive aftermarket and motorist consumers’ right to have their vehicles serviced and repaired at a workshop of their choice. Before this assignment she was Deputy Secretary General of the European Movement Germany, an independent non-governmental umbrella organisation of 140 associations and interest groups. Sylvia Gotzen studied Political Sciences at the Universities of Bonn, Berlin and Paris and obtained a masters degree in European Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges.
Austin Brent is Head of Vendor Management for Amazon EU’s Automotive retail business, and is responsible for business development across the EU. Automotive businesses currently managed by Austin include Accessories, Tires, Oils and Chemicals, Parts, Motorcycle and Caravan. Before joining Amazon EU, he was part of Amazon USA, leading the development of Amazon.com’s Motorcycle and Caravanning businesses.
Fotios is hybrid European with Greek origin, a Finnish family and German residence. He studied in Greece, UK, Belgium and Germany and holds a BA, a MA and a MBA in Economics and Business Administration. He has spent over 30 years living and working in different European countries, being active 23 years in the Automotive Aftermarket. He speaks Greek and claims communication notions of French, English, Finnish, Italian and German. Passionate advocate of the networking value creation, serves since 2005 TEMOT as CEO and President.
Wolfgang Menges (1965) started his education in the IAM in 1982 as a management assistant for wholesale and foreign trading before completing his advanced education as an Industrial Business Administrator in 1992. He started his career in 1985 as a purchase agent for automotive parts in different departments before being promoted to a group leader for sales support and EDP solutions in June 1996. Wolfgang Menges joined ATR International AG in 1997, and is the General Manager Coordination Purchasing. He has more than 30 years’ - worldwide - experience in the Independent Aftermarket. He is very skilful at negotiating with suppliers and at coordinating between ATR shareholders and ATR suppliers on a global scale. Wolfgang Menges belongs to the management team of ATR International AG. He speaks English fluently and has basic knowledge of French.
Omer Wesemael (Belgium, 1950) graduated with a degree in languages in 1973 and after military service joined Autodistribution International in 1974 as the assistant to the General Manager. Moving on to be the group’s Secretary General, General Manager and since many years now Managing Director he is proud to head the most stable and capable team in the Independent Automotive Aftermarket that developed the group from the five partners it federated in the early years to the twenty-three partners in thirty-five countries that the 6 billion Euro group represents today. Together with his American peer he initiated in 2014 1Parts, the leading global group in the IAM, of which he has been Co-CEO since then. A husband, father and grandfather, he keeps fit on the bicycle, the golf course or the shooting range. He is known to be a keen advocate of the historic university town of Leuven, beer capital of the world.
Serdar Aslan (1971) is a board member of OYPG “Independent Automotive Aftermarket Development Association of Turkey”. Since 2012, and also chief of Education Committee within the same Association since 08/2016.Besides that, he is in automotive sector since 1999 working in several management position in part producing companies (Ex:Uzel;Ditaş).Since 01.01.2010, he has started to work for Febi Bilstein GmbH , being Managing Director OF Ferdinand Bilstein TR Otomotiv responsible of Turkey and Azerbaijan markets.Besides the jobs he is doing currently, he has been providing training sessions with Marketing & Sales and Management subjects. Primarily to his own customers’ sales teams; he is voluntarily providing these trainings to more than 50 companies up to now. He speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish.
Joaquim Candeias is Managing Director at Ferdinand Bilstein Portugal S.A., Board Member of ACAP - Automobile Association of Portugal, and FIGIEFA Board Member. Since 1980, when he start his career in the IAM, that Joaquim Candeias is a driver on develop and implementation of good practices’s initiatives, leading him in 2009 to the presidency of the Division of Independent Parts and Accessories from ACAP. The large experience acquired in the Portuguese, Spanish and Italian markets due to the function in Automotive Distributors Ltd. as Managing Director - European Operations (2003-2011), allowed Joaquim Candeias to get involved in Portugal in IAM activities, like Right to Repair campaigns, development of statistics, establishment of rules and procedures related to warranties, qualification and certification for repairers, etc. At the moment he is leading with others members from ACAP, a project related with tax evasion, safety, and environment perseveration
